McCormick Farm, Sep 16, 2026

September 18, 2026

Twelve members of the Augusta Bird Club conducted a bird walk at McCormick’s Farm on this balmy, clear blue skies morning. We were greeted by a flying Great Blue Heron and many hatch year Bluebirds flitting from trees to fences to power lines. A Scarlet Tanager, Palm Warbler, Wood Ducks, Solitary Sandpiper, Bald Eagle, and an awe inspiring male Northern Harrier delighted our presence. Thirty four species were recorded including: Wood Ducks, Great-blue Heron, Green Heron, Yellow-billed Cuckoo, Killdeer, Solitary Sandpiper, Palm Warbler, Scarlet Tanager, and Bald Eagle. My thanks to everyone who contributed to this wonderful pursuit of birding. What great camaraderie we share. See you in October. Happy trails to you. – Jo King
